This podcast episode was inspired by The Goddesses. I mean, what else is new? They’re endlessly inspiring! And from the card I pulled below, I was inspired to pose this question to you: Are you taking ownership of your life, or is it the other way around? And I love this question. Because for so many years, I didn’t even realize I had a choice. I didn’t even know this was a thing I could do! And then I started learning ways to gradually (and sometimes not so gradually) take massive ownership of my life. And once I did this, I got REAL HAPPY, real fast. I want this for you as well. So, please listen and enjoy!

EMPOWERMENT MESSAGE FROM GAIA
Before recording this podcast episode, I pulled a card from Colette Baron-Reid’s Goddess Power Oracle Deck. I asked The Goddesses what I should share about and what would best serve the greater good. And Gaia emerged with this message, taken from the oracle deck guide book:
“Being grounded, slowing down, and remaining present in your body is the message that the Greek goddess Gaia has for you right now. Perhaps you’ve spent too much time in your head lately and have not taken as good care of yourself as you would have liked. Get into a rhythm, make sure you get enough sleep, commit to spending more time in nature, and eat sustainably with conscious awareness. Gaia, the earth, mother of all life, invites you pay attention to your body for you are a creature of the earth as well as spirit.
You are part of this living earth, which is the foundation for all of life that has a physical form. What form does your life take? This is the perfect time to take a closer look to ensure you’re happy with it. You’re also asked to examine the foundation of what you are building now. Does it feel solid and stable? Now is the perfect time to focus on stability and security, ensuring you move forward in a grounded way.
The goddess Gaia reminds you that the earth is the playground for conscious manifestation, so be respectful of this truth.”
TAKING OWNERSHIP OF YOUR LIFE TAKES TIME
The trickiest part about learning how to take ownership of your life, is learning the difference between owning and being owned. In this episode, I offer several examples, from MY OWN LIFE, to demonstrate what taking ownership of your life actually looks like. When I discovered this difference, which was super subtle at times, my life altered dramatically. I went from feeling miserable and roller-coaster-ridey-emotional, to even-keeled, peaceful, and preciously happy. And from there, my dreams started coming true, one by one.
HOW TO START TAKING OWNERSHIP OF YOUR LIFE
I also share some practical advice in this episode about where to start. I remember when I was letting my life run me, I actually didn’t realize that I wasn’t in charge. Instead, I just thought that life sucked and that’s the way it is. So, if you are feeling super overwhelmed about how to even begin thinking about this idea of taking ownership of your life, I suggest two things: Making a list and creating a vision board. I share more about both of these approaches in my episode.
So, where are you at in terms of owning your life? Do you think you are taking ownership of your life? Or, do you think there might be ways in which you can empower yourself a bit more? This is YOUR life and no one else’s. And that means YOU get to say how you want things to go. Life might not always do what you want it to. But there’s a big difference between working collaboratively with life (like co-founders in a company). And being a pawn that is constantly played by your life (like an abusive boss dominating that employee who is completely unaware of her own worth and potential power).
You are so worth it, goddess! xo
