WOMEN ANSWER: WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING A WOMAN?

For this article, I polled a range of women, most of whom I have never met, but whom I admire from afar. I am so humbled by the responses I received and feel such gratitude towards all of the women who chose to offer their opinions and wisdom. That being said, in these responses, it is so obvious to me the complexity of this question. Answering it requires an immense amount of thought, delicacy, reflection, and sensitivity. THE WORLD IS PETRIFIED OF STRONG FEMALES

The older I get, the clearer it becomes to me how petrified the world is of strong females. I used to think when I received negative feedback from the world, it was because I was a terrible and difficult person. I’m not saying I’m not. But ultimately, I know I’m pretty great. And once I reached a place of genuine self-love and self-acceptance, I realized the negative backlash was not about me. No. It’s about the fact that I’m me AND I have a vagina. The world doesn’t like that. If you’re gonna be strong, you better be a man. And if you’re gonna have a vagina, you better be “nice” or whatever. But if you have both, strength and a vagina, ugh. This is quite an unpopular duo, apparently. Continue reading THE WORLD IS PETRIFIED OF STRONG FEMALES

HOW BLOGGING CHANGED MY LIFE

My life changed when I started my blog and the story is really rather inspirational. I never really put the pieces together when I first began blogging, but sometimes you need distance from something in order to see the magic of it. I have been blogging for almost four years now, and I love it more than I ever thought I would. Continue reading HOW BLOGGING CHANGED MY LIFE

CONFESSIONS OF AN ENVIOUS GODDESS

As women, we don’t like to reveal our confessions of envy to ANYONE, because if we were really being honest, we might come across as terrible, awful people. Luckily, I know I’m not a terrible and awful person. I am human. I have beautiful qualities and ugly, wart-covered qualities as well. And so do you. And so does everyone. Continue reading CONFESSIONS OF AN ENVIOUS GODDESS

I’M HORMONAL RIGHT NOW AND I CAN’T HELP IT

Yesterday, I was just not myself. I’m usually very goofy, upbeat, happy, energized, and very open. But yesterday, I was quiet, reserved, subdued, and almost numb. Yesterday also happened to be my late mother’s birthday, and I wondered if I was feeling blue because of that (she passed in 2017). But I’m still feeling rather blue today, and my menstrual calendar tells me that my feeling-like-shit-feelings are happening for a reason. Yep. It’s a week before my period. GUEST POST: WHAT LIFEWITHLILRED WEARS TO FEEL LIKE A GODDESS

Lifewithlilred and I had so much fun with our last guest post that we decided to do it again, only this time, we embarked upon a dual-action, twin goddess post! Lilred came up with the idea for each of us to choose an outfit that makes us feel like a goddess, and then write a … Continue reading GUEST POST: WHAT LIFEWITHLILRED WEARS TO FEEL LIKE A GODDESS

WHAT I WEAR TO FEEL LIKE A GODDESS

This is another lifewithlilred inspired post, and I have to say, lilred moved me slightly out of my comfort zone for this one–which is why it’s a perfect Goddess Attainable topic. The life of a goddess is not about remaining static and staying stuck (although of course, that’s always part of life, so don’t panic if you’re feeling stuck), but rather taking chances, embracing opportunities for growth, and essentially, risking making a complete ass of yourself. WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET A REAL LIFE GODDESS?

This is The Goddess Attainable’s first guest post in GA history, and wow, did I choose the perfect goddess to feature. I was honestly sort of cosmically led to Sarah of lifewithlilred, and our lovely connection is still playing out. I recently guest blogged for her and enjoyed the experience so much (she’s so generous, open, lovely, kind, and alive) that I could only wait a week (I tried to keep my cool) before I reached out to her asking if she would consider writing for my blog.
