I don’t often keep in touch with people I went to school with. My friends were few and far between in high school. And in college, I really only connected with a rare few, even though I desperately tried to find like-minded souls during that time. And although my college roommate and I had very little in common, and did not hang in the same circles, we still kinda dug each other. We most likely never would have been friends if we weren’t randomly assigned to live with each other freshman year. And when you live with someone, if all goes well, it’s easy to form a bond that can last well after you have both moved on. This POD-BLOG* article, and this week’s podcast episode, revolves around my catching up 20 years later with my college roommate, Molly McIntyre. Wow, the topics of body image and judgement are so huge. And I might be a total fool to try to tackle them. But, I think these are important topics for all women. We all want to believe we’re the best versions of ourselves at all times, but how can we possibly be? And I really would like to know, am I the only woman who goes into judgement mode when I look at other women? It’s terrible, I know, but sharing out loud about uncomfortable topics is my way of healing. So, without further ado, let’s let the healing begin! Continue reading BODY IMAGE: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WOMEN LOOK AT OTHER WOMEN?
I don’t know about you, but I’m not the least bit ashamed of the fact that I go to therapy. I mean, are people still embarrassed to admit this? Or even embarrassed to go? I know I’m super lucky to have a twin sis. And in many ways, it really is as cools as everyone thinks it is. We shared a womb together and were side by side, quite literally, throughout our upbringing. We didn’t always get along, and we don’t have tons and tons of things in common. But we have a shared bond that is not really comparable to any other kind of relationship. And for whatever reason, with all of our differences, we especially bond over one particular topic more than any other. And that topic is pop culture. This week’s podcast episode features me geeking out about pop culture with my twin sister. Continue reading GEEKING OUT ABOUT POP CULTURE WITH MY TWIN SISTER
I suddenly became inspired to start a podcast several months ago, and I just went with it. These days, everyone and anyone can start their own podcast, and there is so much information now about how to do it. The “starting it part” was easy and super fun! I also began with a solid idea in mind, but as I have been making recordings, the podcast is starting to kind of form into what it wants to be. And it’s still morphing. Again, I’m going with it and leaning into that. This podcast is very ME. So, if you like ME, then you will probably like this podcast. The Goddess Attainable Podcast is now live, and I invite you to listen. Continue reading THE GODDESS ATTAINABLE PODCAST IS NOW LIVE
Artists have a unique way of expressing themselves to others. We are sensitive and astute, and can easily communicate our thoughts and feelings through visual imagery. And when two artists share mutual respect and admiration for one another, we can’t help but use our art to convey our feelings of appreciation. Continue reading ART MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER
