ADULTING IS HARD AND I’M STRUGGLING WITH IT RIGHT NOW

I don’t know if it’s because Mercury is in Retrograde, or what. This planet retrogrades from May 29th to June 22nd 2021, and with this galactic chaos comes implicit problems with communication and technology, among other things. I openly admit that I do not do well when things are out of my control. And a lot of adulting often consists of dealing with shit that I don’t have much control over. I can typically handle this kind of thing in small doses. But as this retrograde unfolds, and more and more shit becomes uncontrollable, I’m finding that adulting is hard, and I’m super struggling with it right now. HOW BLOGGING CHANGED MY LIFE

My life changed when I started my blog and the story is really rather inspirational. I never really put the pieces together when I first began blogging, but sometimes you need distance from something in order to see the magic of it. I have been blogging for almost four years now, and I love it more than I ever thought I would. Continue reading HOW BLOGGING CHANGED MY LIFE

THE BENEFITS OF MEDITATION FOR CONTROL FREAKS

I am a controlling person, an anal-retentive Virgo, and a watered-down hypochondriac. Fearful of many things, I like when everything is in its place. I like when people do what I want them to do. The first time I heard the song Animal, quoted above, these first lines of the song hit me … Continue reading THE RUG: A TEACHING TOOL FOR LOVE, ACCEPTANCE, AND LETTING GO

MANAGE FEAR LIKE A GODDESS

I’m frenemies with fear, and have been for my entire life. Every part of this definition incisively describes my lifelong relationship with fear, with the exception of describing fear as a person. Also, I would replace the word “friendly” with “familiar,” but other than that, razor sharp accuracy. Although I suppose everyone feels this way … Continue reading MANAGE FEAR LIKE A GODDESS

THE TRUTH ABOUT THERAPY

I think it is a safe assumption that every human being in the world needs and wants love. And it is also safe to assume that many of us do not always receive the kind of love and/or the amount of love we want and need. We might have had a fantastic childhood with loving parents. But maybe we were teased as children and that may have stripped us of a portion of our love quotient. Or, maybe our parents kinda sucked and we learned to depend on our friends, getting by, but still suffering from a deep love depletion. Either way, most of us in our adult lives have hopefully found ways to get the love we need and want. But, there are always gaps and cracks lurking within our emotional topography, and love-lack is a fact of being human. Continue reading THE TRUTH ABOUT THERAPY
