I HAVE QUIRKY TRAITS AND THAT’S NOT A BAD THING

friend Moksha of the Happy Panda blog, recently shared a post entitled, “5 More Quirks of Mine.” Her quirks are as unique and hysterical and relatable as she is, and I pretty much relate to all of them. And in this post, Moksha also invited some of her blogging friends to share their quirks as well. I feel honored to be included in this blogging friend group, and also excited to share! Because, I truly do love talking about myself. So, Imma get right into this and share with you 5 quirky traits of mine. Like Moksha, I have way more than 5, but here are the 5 that I came up with for today Continue reading I HAVE QUIRKY TRAITS AND THAT’S NOT A BAD THING

MY SOUL CRUMPLED A LITTLE WHEN I TRIED WEARING MAKEUP

I’m really not knocking makeup at all. I truly want to be that woman who can put it on and wear it flawlessly. But, it’s just so problematic for me. And even though I downright worship women who rock the makeup look, and have fun with it, and play and experiment, I just can’t. Does this make me less of a woman? I don’t believe so, but it’s definitely something I’m grappling with. Like everything, it comes down to deep and inner happiness, and soul alignment. And even though I wanted to enjoy this experiment, my soul crumpled when I tried wearing makeup. And there’s just no getting around it. I just can’t do it. Continue reading MY SOUL CRUMPLED A LITTLE WHEN I TRIED WEARING MAKEUP

HOW TO GET HAPPY AT WORK

From my experience, the key to being happy at work is all about finding the right match. It’s kind of the same as finding a good relationship. You can work at it and improve yourself, reflecting and growing and changing along the way. However, if your partner sucks, or is just incapable of being decent, it really doesn’t matter what you do. And leaving becomes the best option for all parties involved. I do believe that the same is true for finding happiness at work. And it’s all about recognizing the warning signs. CREDIT CARDS 101: EVERYTHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CREDIT CARDS BUT PROBABLY DON’T

I have to admit that I’m very lucky. I had a father who taught my sister and I the basics of finances from an early age. When we turned 16 (we’re twins), he gave each of us our own credit card so we could establish some credit in our name, and told us he would … Continue reading CREDIT CARDS 101: EVERYTHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CREDIT CARDS BUT PROBABLY DON’T

FINDING PEACE AT WORK

For the most part, everyone in my life, with the exception of a few, is absolutely miserable at work, most of the time. The people I care about the most, day in and day out, struggle with their work life, and at times it becomes difficult for me to witness. It burdens me that my loved ones are suffering at least 40 hours of their week, every week of every year. Although for the most part, these same people are usually working much, much more than 40 hours a week. I can see the toll it takes on their health, their relationships, and their overall sense of joy in life, and it is a major bummer. Continue reading FINDING PEACE AT WORK

WARMING TO COCO ROSE

If any of you have even remotely explored the HEALTH/BEAUTY section of this blog, you will have gathered by now that I am passionate about beauty products (specifically skin care), and have formed an almost-but-not-quite-disturbing attachment to Herbivore Botanicals. You can read all about my love affair with this company in my earlier article, BEAUTY … Continue reading WARMING TO COCO ROSE

REINDEER MAGIC, PART II: ASSEMBLAGE (AND FAMILY)

I do not consider myself a very adept DIY-er (do-it-yourself-er), and I do not come from a particularly “handy” family. The Saylors (paternal) and the Webers (maternal) are more of a non-handy breed, with proclivities for intellectual, spiritual, and cultural explorations. This is not a good or a bad thing, it just is what it … Continue reading REINDEER MAGIC, PART II: ASSEMBLAGE (AND FAMILY)
