The idea for this article came to me in a random moment. I was taking the train to work, and was thinking about how many moments of the day females question their own power. Or decide to hide, or dumb it down in some way. And how hard it can be when females express their power deliberately. It’s never easy. Although, I have found that the more I do it, the easier it becomes. But, there are many unassuming ways that females express their power, that can often take others by surprise. Expressing power doesn’t necessarily involve raised voices, physical strength, or other stereotypical “male” expressions of power. Females can express power in everyday behaviors, and can get really good at it, with a bit of courage and persistence. Continue reading 5 UNASSUMING WAYS THAT FEMALES EXPRESS THEIR POWER
was taking my daily nature walk the other day, feeling hopeless about my contribution to the world. Thinking about all of my creative projects, I was getting caught up, focusing on all of the people who DON’T pay attention to me. And then Mama Nature, as she often does, gently graced me with her clarity and nurturing love in my moment of sadness. And the idea that both you and I should keep creating, even if no one seems to care, became so apparent. Creative expression is such a powerful, human tool. We can all access it, and we can all benefit from it. And just because you THINK no one seems to care, is no reason to stop. The flow must continue, regardless of external validations, or lack thereof. And here are five reasons why. Continue reading 5 REASONS TO KEEP CREATING, EVEN IF NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE
This podcast episode was inspired by The Goddesses. I mean, what else is new? They’re endlessly inspiring! And from the card I pulled below, I was inspired to pose this question to you: Are you taking ownership of your life, or is it the other way around? And I love this question. Because for so many years, I didn’t even realize I had a choice. I didn’t even know this was a thing I could do! And then I started learning ways to gradually (and sometimes not so gradually) take massive ownership of my life. And once I did this, I got REAL HAPPY, real fast. I want this for you as well. So, please listen and enjoy! Continue reading ARE YOU TAKING OWNERSHIP OF YOUR LIFE, OR IS IT THE OTHER WAY AROUND?
I’m not going to lie. I wouldn’t say that humility is one of my strong traits. However, I do think there is a huge difference between having confidence in yourself, and being obnoxious and conceited. And I don’t believe I ever venture into the obnoxious realm of self-confidence. I like to celebrate when things go well for me, and I think that’s a good thing. To me, it’s much more honest to say, “Yes, I kick ass, thank you!” Rather than saying, “Oh no, please, not me, no thank you.” When really, everyone wants recognition and love. So, without any humility or apologies, I’m happy to share that The Dazzling Blogger Award goes to me! Continue reading THE DAZZLING BLOGGER AWARD GOES TO ME!
As women, we don’t like to reveal our confessions of envy to ANYONE, because if we were really being honest, we might come across as terrible, awful people. Luckily, I know I’m not a terrible and awful person. I am human. I have beautiful qualities and ugly, wart-covered qualities as well. And so do you. And so does everyone. Continue reading CONFESSIONS OF AN ENVIOUS GODDESS
I don’t know why, but whenever I create something, something I really like and am proud of, I can’t stop looking at it. Even when I’m in the middle of creating it, I keep coming back to it, even when I don’t need to. And not with the intention of re-working it, but rather just to gaze at it and adore. Continue reading FALLING IN LOVE WITH MY CREATIONS
This is another lifewithlilred inspired post, and I have to say, lilred moved me slightly out of my comfort zone for this one–which is why it’s a perfect Goddess Attainable topic. The life of a goddess is not about remaining static and staying stuck (although of course, that’s always part of life, so don’t panic if you’re feeling stuck), but rather taking chances, embracing opportunities for growth, and essentially, risking making a complete ass of yourself. Continue reading WHAT I WEAR TO FEEL LIKE A GODDESS
