I just came from the drug store. Because ever since the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, which protected a woman’s right to getting an abortion, I’ve been petrified. And even though I’m not currently sexually active, I’m doing my damndest to become sexually active again! And I’m still in my childbearing years, even though I’m 42. So, I thought it would be smart to purchase some Plan B to have on hand, JUST IN CASE. Because it’s not looking good for Pennsylvania in terms of abortion rights and where PA will land with their laws. And I just had to pay $50 FUCKING DOLLARS for one package of this. For one pill! And this my friends, is an example of the pink tax. Continue reading DOES EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT THE PINK TAX?
Let me start off by saying that I acknowledge that this blog post title is coming from a place of EXTREME white, female, cisgender privilege. And I’m not going to apologize for that or get any further into that. Because I can’t help where, how, and under what circumstances I came into this world. And neither can you. We work with what we have. And I also think that in light of the recent overturning of Roe vs. Wade, it’s not helpful to blame or bash other women, or men, or races, or classes, for what has happened. Even if certain races, classes, and genders are to blame. Instead, I think it’s time for the sane and kind human beings of this country to come together and protect one another. Because I’m really very afraid to be in this country right now. And I think the people with their souls still in tact need to stick together. Continue reading I’VE NEVER BEEN AFRAID TO BE IN THIS COUNTRY BEFORE, BUT I AM NOW
This is the sixth post of my “Real and Raw” guest post series. And this one is extra special for me because it’s written by one of my very dear friends. I met Julia (Juls) Washington when I was a guest on her utterly brilliant podcast, Pop Culture Makes Me Jealous. And we really connected on so many levels, very quickly, and I’m so thankful for her friendship! I also greatly admire her as a creative person and a lovely human being in general. And even more, I love her real and raw courage to share her experience with young pregnancy goddess-ness. Continue reading YOUNG PREGNANCY CAN BE LONELY AND TERRIFYING
The longer I have this blog, the more enamored I become of women. I have a history of being super critical of women in general, and opting instead to put men on a pedestal. That was the way I saw the world before The Goddess arrived. Continue reading WOMEN ANSWER: WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO MANIFEST RIGHT NOW?
Ok, so I’m going to tell you right now, I’m selling something. Yes, I have a product, and yes, I want you to buy it. That’s what this entire post is about. So, if you’re not open to that (it’s perfectly affordable, don’t worry), or are turned off by the plug, I totally understand. Feel free to move on. However, if you love The Goddess Attainable Blog, hang in there with me for a few mins while I break things down for you. And introduce you to the thing that every goddess needs in life. Continue reading THIS IS THE THING THAT EVERY GODDESS NEEDS IN LIFE
Wow, the topics of body image and judgement are so huge. And I might be a total fool to try to tackle them. But, I think these are important topics for all women. We all want to believe we’re the best versions of ourselves at all times, but how can we possibly be? And I really would like to know, am I the only woman who goes into judgement mode when I look at other women? It’s terrible, I know, but sharing out loud about uncomfortable topics is my way of healing. So, without further ado, let’s let the healing begin! Continue reading BODY IMAGE: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WOMEN LOOK AT OTHER WOMEN?
For this article, I polled a range of women, most of whom I have never met, but whom I admire from afar. I am so humbled by the responses I received and feel such gratitude towards all of the women who chose to offer their opinions and wisdom. That being said, in these responses, it is so obvious to me the complexity of this question. Answering it requires an immense amount of thought, delicacy, reflection, and sensitivity. Continue reading WOMEN ANSWER: WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING A WOMAN?
The older I get, the clearer it becomes to me how petrified the world is of strong females. I used to think when I received negative feedback from the world, it was because I was a terrible and difficult person. I’m not saying I’m not. But ultimately, I know I’m pretty great. And once I reached a place of genuine self-love and self-acceptance, I realized the negative backlash was not about me. No. It’s about the fact that I’m me AND I have a vagina. The world doesn’t like that. If you’re gonna be strong, you better be a man. And if you’re gonna have a vagina, you better be “nice” or whatever. But if you have both, strength and a vagina, ugh. This is quite an unpopular duo, apparently. Continue reading THE WORLD IS PETRIFIED OF STRONG FEMALES
As women, we don’t like to reveal our confessions of envy to ANYONE, because if we were really being honest, we might come across as terrible, awful people. Luckily, I know I’m not a terrible and awful person. I am human. I have beautiful qualities and ugly, wart-covered qualities as well. And so do you. And so does everyone. Continue reading CONFESSIONS OF AN ENVIOUS GODDESS
This entire blog, and for the most part, my entire existence, is all about how to cultivate my goddess qualities, strive for more goddess-esque actions and thoughts, and ultimately to become more goddess than woman. At the very least, I would love to strike a 50/50 balance (the name The Goddess Attainable succinctly encapsulates this exact idea). It’s a lofty goal, I know, but it’s what feels right for me. Continue reading CULTIVATING OUR GODDESS QUALITIES IN 2021
