For this article, I polled a range of women, most of whom I have never met, but whom I admire from afar. I am so humbled by the responses I received and feel such gratitude towards all of the women who chose to offer their opinions and wisdom. The older I get, the clearer it becomes to me how petrified the world is of strong females. I used to think when I received negative feedback from the world, it was because I was a terrible and difficult person. I’m not saying I’m not. But ultimately, I know I’m pretty great. And once I reached a place of genuine self-love and self-acceptance, I realized the negative backlash was not about me. No. It’s about the fact that I’m me AND I have a vagina. The world doesn’t like that. If you’re gonna be strong, you better be a man. And if you’re gonna have a vagina, you better be “nice” or whatever. But if you have both, strength and a vagina, ugh. This entire blog, and for the most part, my entire existence, is all about how to cultivate my goddess qualities, strive for more goddess-esque actions and thoughts, and ultimately to become more goddess than woman. At the very least, I would love to strike a 50/50 balance (the name The Goddess Attainable succinctly encapsulates this exact idea). It’s a lofty goal, I know, but it’s what feels right for me.
